As one of the most beautiful bathing lakes in South Tyrol, it invites visitors to take a refreshing swim in the summer, while in winter it transforms into a romantic ice skating rink and offers a unique experience for ice swimmers. Additionally, in summer, visitors can rent rowing boats and explore the lake at a leisurely pace from the water. The Völser Weiher is also a popular starting point for hikes and walks, rewarding explorers with breathtaking panoramic views of the Dolomites.
The picturesque Völser Weiher, just a 15-minute walk from us, is one of the cleanest bathing lakes in Italy. "Legambiente," the largest environmental organization in Italy, has awarded it multiple times for being one of the best ecosystems in the country with the "5 Vele" designation.
Thanks to its intact ecosystem and excellent water quality, the lake at the foot of the Schlern is a popular destination for swimming. The Völser Weiher is one of only eight bathing lakes in South Tyrol and is located in the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park, at the base of the iconic Schlern mountain.
In winter, the lake transforms into an idyllic ice skating rink set against the stunning backdrop of the Schlern. On the natural ice, skaters glide gracefully while figure skaters perform elegant pirouettes. Ice skates can be rented on-site.
For the more adventurous, ice bathing is an option. In designated areas, a hole is cut into the ice, allowing you to plunge into the cold water - an invigorating experience that refreshes both body and mind, boosts circulation, and provides a true adrenaline rush.
